Donegal Horizons CLG, part of the wider New Horizons Partnership network, is currently seeking a Client Facilitator / Keyworker (with Lifestyle Support duties as required) to join their team. This full‑time role is based in Carndonagh, with flexibility to work across additional sites including Letterkenny.

Donegal Horizons provides a wide range of community‑based supports to adults with intellectual disabilities across Co. Donegal, and this role is central to delivering person‑centred, high‑quality services.


About the Role

The Client Facilitator/Keyworker will support adults living with intellectual disabilities in setting meaningful goals, developing life and vocational skills, and accessing community‑based opportunities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Training & Community Services team, providing structured learning, guidance, and ongoing progress monitoring through individual plans.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as keyworker for assigned clients using a person‑centred approach
  • Support clients in identifying and achieving S.M.A.R.T. goals
  • Develop and deliver accredited and non‑accredited life‑skills and vocational learning
  • Create timetables, prepare resources, and track learner progress
  • Source suitable community placements and provide job coaching
  • Maintain documentation including PCPs, job analysis, risk assessments, and progress reports
  • Support clients in developing independence, life skills, and community participation
  • Promote safe practices and maintain up‑to‑date risk assessments
  • Engage with families, community partners, and the wider DH team
  • Participate in service evaluations and continuous improvement

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

  • A relevant third‑level qualification
  • Minimum 1 year’s paid experience (within the last 5 years) working with adults with intellectual disabilities
  • Experience facilitating and implementing Person‑Centred Plans (PCPs)
  • Strong organisation, communication, and time‑management skills
  • Ability to develop and adapt training programmes
  • Experience with accredited training and resource development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A flexible approach and ability to work across different sites
  • Access to a car and full driving licence (or alternative travel proposal if applicable)
  • Experience engaging with and supporting families

  • A demonstrable passion for the sector and commitment to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships and contribute positively to team culture

Hours & Benefits

  • Full‑time: 38 hours per week
