In 1825, engineer Thomas Drummond made a historic ascent of Sliabh Sneacht, using a
pioneering limelight device to project a signal 67 miles to Belfast. This remarkable achievement marked a new era in Irish mapping and surveying.
Join us to celebrate the bicentenary of this moment with an afternoon of exploration, learning and local heritage.

Explore the newly developed Drovers Trail (Old Carn Road) at the foot of Sliabh
Sneacht. Led by a trained Lowland Leader from the Active Inishowen Project, with
support from North West Community Development.

Start time: 3pm

Bus transfer available for the initial steep section
