UkrainianIDP are pleased to announce that the 2025 Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP), Small Grants Fund, is now open for 2025 applications. Local community organisations, voluntary groups, and small social enterprises are eligible to apply for this grant programme. Social enterprises wishing to apply under the new programme must be “microenterprises” (fewer than 10 staff).
As before, applications are particularly welcome from local groups that are supporting initiatives that work with Older People (aged 65+ Years) in Isolation, Refugee and Migrant Rights and Integration, Climate Action and the Just Transition, Addiction, Homelessness, LGBTQI+, Youth, and Gender. Priority target groups within the programme are listed within the application guidelines.
The aim of SICAP is to reduce poverty and promote social inclusion and equality in Ireland through supporting communities and individuals using community development approaches, engagement and collaboration. The Small Grants Programme falls under Goal 1 – Contribute to Building more Sustainable, Inclusive and Empowered Communities.
Team Lead Denise McCool explains, “We always get a great range of applications from across the community and voluntary sector for this SICAP small grants programme. The grant supports actions that respond to local needs identified by the community groups. It works to address a wide range of issues and challenges, supporting the community to come together to make a difference. The small grant can contribute to this good work on the ground.”
A range of actions and supports can be applied for under the grant, including creating community plans, training, small capital costs, running events, environmental projects, to name but a few. All expenditure must be vouched and short reports on the actions are required. But the process is straight-forward with a short application form and guidance provided by the Community Development Team at IDP. They are available to answer any questions groups may have regarding the grants programme.
