Inishowen Development Partnership runs a series of Employment Skills Workshops for jobseekers from Inishowen. For information and to reserve your place please call 074 93 62218. Workshops include:
- Career Planning & Job Searching
Whether you are at the start of your career or have had several jobs, it is a good idea to create a career plan, that will help you identify and achieve your goals, stay motivated, develop yourself personally and professionally so that you can reach your full potential.
This workshop will help you explore and evaluate your skills, abilities and interests, explore options for employment and/or development and look for suitable employment opportunities.
- CV and Cover Letter Preparation
A CV is a crucial element of gaining access to employment therefore jobseekers must be in possession of a good quality CV and Cover Letter. When it comes to applying for employment, one size does not fit all, therefore your CV should be tailored for each application. Employers want to see how your skills and experience match the specific role they have advertised. Tailoring your CV will show employers that you have the skills, experience and training that they are looking for and that you are a serious candidate for their role.
- Preparing for Interview
It’s natural to feel anxious before an interview, by preparing in advance, you can learn to control your pre-interview nerves. A lot of the anxiety surrounding interviews is based on not knowing what to expect. You’ll feel a lot more confident – and have a better chance of controlling those nerves – if you know you’re well prepared.
This workshop will give you an insight into what employers are looking for in their questions, and help you prepare structured answers for commonly asked questions and prepare for job specific questions.
The Employment Support Team have a good knowledge of local businesses and can discuss local job opportunities and guide job-seekers in the right direction to jobs suited to their skills, abilities and interests.
Job seekers have the option of being placed on a database where they are notified of vacancies which are likely to be of interest to them.
