Project Worker

Inishowen Development Partnership (IDP) is inviting applications for the role of Project Worker (Part-Time) to support the delivery of the ChangeMakers Donegal education and community action programmes. This is a three‑day‑per‑week position, forming part of a collaborative initiative focused on global citizenship, community engagement and lifelong learning across Donegal.

ChangeMakers Donegal is a long‑established partnership involving IDP, Donegal ETB, Self Help Africa, Trócaire and Concern. The programme works with adults, community groups and local organisations to explore key global issues, promote social justice, and encourage practical local action through workshops, accredited learning opportunities, community projects and awareness‑raising initiatives.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support the delivery of a diverse range of educational and community programmes linked to global citizenship, sustainability, social justice and the Sustainable Development Goals. The role requires strong coordination and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with community groups, facilitators and partner organisations.

This is a part‑time position (Tuesday–Thursday, 9am–5pm) based at IDP’s offices in Buncrana. The contract runs until 31 December 2026 and may be extended subject to funding.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a motivated individual with:

  • Experience in community development
  • A background in global citizenship education or related fields
  • Experience working with diverse community groups
  • Strong planning, facilitation and delivery skills

Applicants should be proactive, organised and comfortable supporting multiple programmes simultaneously.

About ChangeMakers Donegal

ChangeMakers Donegal promotes global action at a local level. Funded by Irish Aid, the project began in 2012 and is an award-winning partnership between Inishowen Development Partnership, Donegal ETB, Self Help Africa, Trócaire, and Concern.

We work with adults across Donegal to explore global citizenship issues through workshops, accredited learning, community arts, environmental projects, and sustainability training. We also run the Seeds of Change grants and mentoring programme and work with a panel of facilitators to deliver workshops to raise awareness and take action to support fairer, more sustainable communities.
