The Community Employment Scheme is here to help you, you don’t need a qualification, you just need to be enthusiastic and eager to work in childcare and committed to the terms and conditions of the CE scheme.
The scheme is designed to help people who are long-term unemployed (or otherwise disadvantaged) who have been unemployed for a period of 12 months or more, to return to the workplace. It is funded by the Department of Social Protection and coordinated by IDP.

Your work experience will involve working in a Community Playgroup/Creche close to you and shadowing the room leader, where you will learn all about Aistear and Siolta, see link https://www.aistearsiolta.ie/en/curriculum-foundations/
Work Hours on the CE Scheme: 19.5 hours per week. You can also take up other employment whilst on the scheme provided it doesn’t impact on your CE hours or training.
Training and development are provided as part of the CE scheme.
You undertake training in childcare and will complete the scheme with a Major Award. This qualification will enable you to apply for employment in a childcare setting. This training is free to you, funded by DSP.
