This course is delivered by the Dublin Barista School in Inishowen.  Continually revised and improved this course is an absolute fundamental to participants looking to dip their toes in the coffee industry.

Our Barista Essentials Course is a one day practical course designed to show you how to perfect your espresso and milk texturing techniques. After a brief introduction you will move straight onto the machines where you will spend the day perfecting your skills under the supervision one of our professionally qualified trainers.

This course is certified by the World Barista Institute which is the globally recognised standard for training.

Course content:

  • From farm to cup theory
  • Understanding your espresso equipment
  • Espresso techniques
  • Understanding the espresso grinder
  • Milk chemistry & Milk texturing techniques
  • Intro to latte art designs
  • Drinks menu in detail eg Latte, cappuccino, macchiato….
  • Understanding café workflow
  • Machine cleaning

On page 2 of the application form they ask where you will do work experience from having completed the course but just put in (c) for this as there is an assessment as part of the course)
