Assistance to avail of the BTWEAS and the STEA
(BTWEAS) encourages people getting certain social welfare payments to become self-employed. This scheme entitles those eligible to keep a portion of their Social Welfare payments on a gradually reducing scale over two years while also being self-employed. (STEA)The Short-Term Enterprise Allowance supports you if you have lost your job and want to start your own business. The Short-Term Enterprise Allowance is paid instead of your Jobseeker’s Benefit for a maximum of 9 months. It ends when your entitlement to Jobseeker’s Benefit ends (that is, at either 9 or 6 months). Click for more info:

IDP provide intensive 2-day, 1 day and 4-hour programmes to equip you with the toolkits and capabilities to become self-employed ready in a short timeframe. It consists of practical educational workshops and training session. The core training programmes are:
