IDP are delighted to run two masterclasses hosted by Colm Croffy, Director of the International Festivals and Event Association (IFEA Europe) & the Association of Irish Festivals and Events (AOIFE). Colm has spent over 30 years working in events and festival management for both professional and community run events.
Two online masterclasses will cover topics to help your group run successful and sustainable public events. It will include advice on reaching your target audience, finding volunteers, promotion and
marketing, budget planning and new approaches for event programming.
Colm Croffy Bio
Colm is Director of the International Festivals and Event Association ( IFEA Europe) & Irish Festivals and Events (AOIFE). He also served Director of the European Festivals Association (E.F.A.) and is currently Special Projects Co Ordinator for the Birr 20/20 Festivals Collective in the Midlands. Formerly Co-ordinator for Ballinasloe Fair and Festival – one of the largest festival and heritage events in the West of Ireland, he was involved with The Rose of Tralee – one of Ireland’s longest running televised festivals based in Kerry in the Southwest, as a Senior Manager since 2004.
Colm started his career as an Arts Officer for the University of Limerick, went on to be the Director of the Mary from Dungloe Festival in Donegal and then the Chief Executive of Ballinasloe Chamber of Commerce. Since 2001 he has been a consultant specialising in media, marketing, event management, tourism and cultural projects.
