Dear Inishowen community,

Did you know that the Inishowen Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) is part of a national network of community teams leading local energy projects? The Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) network is made up of a growing national movement of 280 communities. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) are supporting these communities to learn, plan and complete energy projects to help Ireland transition to a low carbon future.

The Inishowen SEC team, led by the Inishowen Development Partnership and Inishowen Co-op, are now developing an Energy Master Plan (EMP) for our community. This EMP will help us to better understand how we are using energy in the community and to plan for projects to reduce our energy costs and prepare for a more sustainable future.

We are asking for your support to help us build this understanding. We need local people in homes, communities/organisations/schools and local businesses to participate in our project. This can be as simple as filling in short surveys or coming along to awareness raising events.

We are also offering a chance to get a free energy audit as part of our EMP. If you are interested, please respond to this email indicating your expression of interest. It is planned to have this audit completed on or before the end of 2019.
