RDS Finding Common Ground Festival 2nd/3rd May 2024

IDP would like to congratulate Ross Buchanan’s woodland in Carndonagh and

Living Green Health in Quigley’s Point on their recent nominations at the RDS Finding Common Ground Festival.

Ross was shortlisted in the Production Forestry Category which aims to recognise excellence in the management of production forestry. Living Green organic compost in Quigleys Point has been shortlisted in the SME category in the RDS Circular Economy Awards.

Both projects were funded through the 2014-2020 LEADER programme so it’s great to see them nominated for these awards. We would like to wish them both the best of luck at the awards in Dublin next week.

The recognition of these promoters and projects is testament to the impact that the LEADER 2014-2020 Programme has had in Inishowen.

The programme has supported projects across a range of diverse themes such as enterprise development, rural tourism, enhancement of rural towns, the provision of services targeted at hard to reach communities, and the rural environment. The programme provides support in all aspects of rural life, from business supports to rural youth programmes, biodiversity and renewable energy projects.

A reminder that the current LEADER programme for 2023-2027 is still accepting Expressions of Interest – If you or your community would like to discuss a potential project with a LEADER Project Officer or complete an expression of interest form, please contact the office at: Pound Street Business Park, Pound Street, Carndonagh, Inishowen, Co.
