Moville Tool Hire seek a skilled and experienced Garden Machinery Mechanic to join their team. As a Garden Machinery Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various garden machinery, with a primary focus on two and 4-stroke engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a range of garden machinery, including but not limited to lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other outdoor power equipment.
  • Specialise in servicing two and 4-stroke engines, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify issues and provide accurate estimates for repairs.
  • Maintain detailed and organised job cards, documenting work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in garden machinery technology.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, explaining repairs, maintenance needs, and cost estimates clearly.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of necessary parts and tools.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in mechanical repairs (Agri, cars, quads, plant, or garden)
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing various types of machinery.
  • Strong understanding of 2 and 4-stroke engine principles and components.
  • Ability to read and write job cards accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and guidelines in a workshop environment.

Education and Certifications

  • Relevant certifications or training in garden machinery mechanics is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions (when required).
