Do you feel you understand what your community group needs and feel that you could work together with others to achieve this? Then register your interest and find out more about the election of Community Representatives to the Board of Inishowen Development Partnership.

Inishowen Development Partnership has a Board of up to 24 people from across the sectors and at this time they are seeking 6 community representatives through elections. The Board, Management and Staff of Inishowen Development Partnership aim to promote the social, cultural and economic development of the Inishowen Peninsula.

“We are looking for people who can represent not only the issues in their respective local communities but who are also willing and have the capacity to work in close collaboration with others to achieve common aims and objectives which will benefit the Inishowen Peninsula as a whole” said Andrew Ward, Joint CEO. “It is crucial for continued progress that community interests are effectively represented on our Board. The dynamic contributions from the diverse community sector in Inishowen are fundamental in achieving social, economic and cultural development within the Peninsula” added IDP Joint CEO, Shauna McClenaghan.

To ensure that all areas are properly represented, Inishowen has been divided into three areas based on population – North (N), South &West(S) and East (E) (see map). Each area will elect two representatives, one male and one female to ensure gender balance with each registered group being entitled to TWO votes. Nominations open from Thursday 20th October until 1.00 p.m. on Thursday November 10th . The provisional date for elections is Thursday 24th November in the Carndonagh Public Service Centre from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m and will be conducted with the assistance of Donegal County Council on. In order to exercise your Community Group’s vote on the night your group must be registered in advance.
